PITCH BLACK

The Midlands African Chamber (“MAC”) is a membership-based organization that enhances the robust African and African American business climate in Nebraska and the Midwest. The Chamber strives to create a positive economic impact in the Midwest by providing business opportunities, leadership, education, advocacy, and economic development. PITCH BLACK was designed to strengthen, energize, and support startups and small businesses and identifies black business leaders with impact-oriented solutions, addressing essential community needs while spurring sustainable growth. Those who came with the best PITCH for funding their goals would receive startup financial support to kickstart their business proposition. The goal was to create a mark that carried the undertone of “WE” PITCH BLACK to have a voice to carry the ideas from the community in support of small business development and startups. The logo was created in a way to have a not back to African heritage by treating the letterforms in the icon as shapes that felt modern but also a nod back to cultural patterns in African history.
